When a local reseller is useful

Ask a local reseller for a quote when you need help with something beyond choosing the software.

Compare the same software, then compare the help

A lower total is useful only if the two quotes cover what you need.

First, compare the same SonarQube product and subscription period. Include the same capacity: Sonar uses lines of code, usually shortened to LOC, to size paid subscriptions. Our SonarQube pricing guide explains how to estimate that number.

Then check the extra work. A licence-only quote and a quote that includes installation and training are different purchases. Ask for those services on separate lines before comparing the totals.

Also ask who will do the setup. Sonar's customer agreement distinguishes product support from hands-on professional services. Having support does not mean someone has agreed to install and configure the software for you.
