One grant route closed on 29 September 2026. Check which one a quote is using.

If you run a renovation firm or a tuition centre, you may have a quote in your inbox for a "PSG SEO package". It probably says the government will pay half. Before you sign it, check the date.

The Productivity Solutions Grant, or PSG, ceased on 29 September 2026. From 30 September, new applications go to a different grant called EDGE.

When we searched Google from Singapore on 7 October 2026, most results for PSG SEO packages were still agency pages selling PSG-funded SEO. Google's own AI summary at the top already said PSG had ended. So the page selling you a package may be out of date, even when the search result above it is not.

We sell AI SEO and other services in Singapore ourselves, so read this with that in mind. We make no claim that our service qualifies for any grant.

PSG closed on 29 September 2026 and EDGE replaced it

The closure covers more than PSG. Enterprise Singapore's notice reads: "EDG, MRA and PSG ceased on 29 September 2026. From 30 September onwards, apply for business grant support under the EDGE Grant".

EDGE replaces three older grants at once: the Enterprise Development Grant (EDG), the Market Readiness Assistance Grant (MRA) and PSG. Enterprise Singapore says EDGE covers 8 business areas and over 150 activities.

What PSG used to cover for SEO

Under PSG, SEO could be funded as part of a pre-approved package. The pre-approval guide from IMDA, Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority, described a category called Digital Marketing Packages that bundled "Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM), and Social Media Marketing".

PSG covered up to 50% of eligible costs for qualifying local businesses. That route is now closed to new applications, even though many agency pages still advertise it.

Does the EDGE Grant cover SEO?

On the EDGE pages we could read on 7 October 2026, we found no activity that names SEO. Activities can be added, so check the current list on Enterprise Singapore's site before you sign.

There is an EDGE activity called Digital marketing. Read it closely. It funds "digital marketing campaign management solutions": software that helps you run online marketing campaigns.

    • Supported cost: software only, up to 12 months.
    • Activity cap: S$10,000. At 50% support the most you receive is S$5,000; larger firms at 30% receive up to S$3,000.
    • Counts toward EDGE's S$30,000 annual sub-cap for automation and digitalisation projects, within the S$100,000 annual cap.
    • Not covered: GST and maintenance fees.

So EDGE can help pay for marketing software. It does not, on the pages we read, describe paying an agency to do SEO work for you.

If a provider tells you their SEO package is EDGE-funded, ask one question: which EDGE activity is it under? Then find that activity on Enterprise Singapore's site yourself.

Not sure which activity fits? Enterprise Singapore points businesses to the BizSG grant recommender to help find the right support.

Treat this guide as a starting point. Check the activity page, and ask the grant team if unsure, before you sign anything.

Four EDGE rules to check before you sign

A few EDGE rules matter more than the headline percentage. Most are in Enterprise Singapore's EDGE Grant FAQ; the vendor note for Digital marketing is on the activity page.

Apply before you start or pay. A deposit counts. EDGE does not fund work that started, or was paid for, before you applied.

Costs paid after you apply "may be supported if the application is subsequently approved". Until approval, they are at your own risk.

Your supplier cannot be related to you. Suppliers must not have "any relationship, connection, association or dealings" with the applicant.

Some activities have a pre-approved vendor list. If yours does, choose from it. If not, you can pick your own supplier.

For the Digital marketing activity, Enterprise Singapore points you to IMDA's list of pre-approved vendors and solutions. Check the activity page before you choose.

Who can apply, and how much.

    • Registered in Singapore, and at least 30% owned by Singapore citizens or permanent residents.
    • Up to 50% support if your group turnover is up to S$100 million or you have up to 200 workers. Larger firms can get up to 30%.
    • A cap of S$100,000 per company per year, reset each 1 April. Up to S$30,000 of it can go on single-function digital solutions, integrated enterprise systems and pre-scoped equipment.

If you applied for PSG before 30 September

You are not starting again. Applications submitted before 30 September 2026 "will continue to be assessed based on the requirements of the relevant scheme". Enterprise Singapore says ongoing PSG projects will continue to be processed, and you claim through the Business Grants Portal when the project is done.

What you cannot do is submit a new PSG application. From 30 September, new applications go under EDGE.

What to ask an SEO provider now

With or without a grant, the questions that protect you are the same. Google publishes its own list for anyone hiring an SEO. These are the ones we would ask first:

    • "Can you show me examples of your previous work and share some success stories?"
    • "What kind of results do you expect to see, and in what timeframe? How do you measure your success?"
    • "What's your experience in my industry?" and "What's your experience in my country/city?" Ask them to name Singapore businesses they have worked with.
    • Does your price include GST? Since 1 January 2024 the rate is 9%, and only GST-registered businesses can charge it.
    • If you mention a grant, which scheme and which activity, and was the application filed before any payment?
    • How will you show whether Google's AI Overviews (the AI summary at the top of some search results) mention us? Google says there is no special trick for these beyond normal good SEO, so ask what the work actually is, not what it is called.

For how AI answers pick the businesses they name, see our guide to how AI answers choose which businesses to recommend.

And two warnings from the same Google page. "No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google". And "Be wary of SEO firms and web consultants or agencies that email you out of the blue".

If you pay for SEO without a grant

Without PSG, you pay the full price, so get the quote in writing: the monthly fee, the work done each month, the minimum term, and GST shown separately. A quote that lists only "deliverables", with no monthly work plan, is hard to compare.

Our own plans, and what each includes, are on our AI SEO in Singapore page. We do not guarantee rankings or mentions in AI answers.

    Frequently asked questions

Can I still get a PSG SEO package?

Not with a new application. PSG ceased on 29 September 2026, and from 30 September new applications go under the EDGE Grant instead. Applications filed before 30 September are still assessed under PSG's rules.

Does the EDGE Grant cover SEO?

We found no EDGE activity that names SEO on 7 October 2026. EDGE's Digital marketing activity funds campaign-management software, capped at S$10,000 per activity. Check Enterprise Singapore's EDGE pages, as activities can be added.

How much does the EDGE Grant pay?

Up to 50% for businesses with group turnover up to S$100 million or up to 200 workers, and up to 30% for others, within a S$100,000 annual cap. Certain internationalisation and sustainability activities can get a higher rate, up to 70%, but that higher rate does not cover digital work.

I paid a deposit on a PSG SEO package after 29 September. Is it covered?

It depends on when you applied. If your PSG application was submitted before 30 September, it is still assessed under PSG's rules and ongoing projects continue to be processed, so check with Enterprise Singapore. If you had not applied, PSG takes no new applications. Under EDGE, any payment or deposit made before you apply means the project counts as already started, and EDGE will not fund it.

Should I pay an SEO provider before my grant is approved?

Not before you apply, if you want the grant. A payment or deposit made before you apply means EDGE will not fund the project. Payments made after applying may be supported if the application is approved.
